ANDREA GOMEZ

My father was a counselor. I grew up watching him exert his natural talent and knowledge in helping and loving people suffering from addiction and all its related problems. He was, is, and will always be my inspiration to serve others in need. Through him, I learned that recovery from mental illness and addiction is possible as I witnessed him plant seeds and help others reinvent themselves. He instilled hope that I carry into my practice. The belief that we can all recover from all kinds of things.
Before living in the United States, I lived in South America, Australia, Belgium, and Korea. This life experience forged me as a self-aware, multicultural person that understands the relevance of each individual’s background. I am fortunate to be fluent in Spanish and English; it especially allows me to be an equally useful helper for more people.

I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Bond University in Australia. After a few years of studying abroad, I established my home in Oklahoma in 2003. I started working in the counseling field in 2005. My license allows me to help people with mental health as well as alcohol and drug problems under the Oklahoma Board of License Drug and Alcohol Counselors (License #334).

Before I started my private practice at AXG Services Inc, I worked doing counseling and directing programs with at-risk populations such as criminal justice-involved and foster care clients. Working with multidisciplinary teams while serving people going through the system is a helpful skill. I can be a problem solver and navigate with you the complexities of systems and institutions. Anyone that comes to my practice will receive the help they need in any context.
More than anything, I love the counseling field and all the opportunities for personal growth.
